Default Orchid in Colombia

A friend in Colombia found this growing on his property. He also took the not so good picture. Anny ideas as to what it might be, at least genus?

For the genus, I wonder if it is Galeandra. Is there a chance that you could ask your friend to also show a picture of the whole plant ?

In fact, it looks a lot like Galeandra beyrichii: Gal beyrichii

It is beautiful! Until I went on a cruise on the Rio Negro in Brazil two months ago, I was completely unfamiliar with the genus. There I saw a lot of Gal. devoniana. That lip shape is really distinctive for the genus.

It was fantastic - the river was at flood stage, about 10 meters, so our boat was in the canopy - at times of low water, the orchids would have been very far above, for this trip they were right in front of us. I thought of genera like Galeandra and Sobralia as terrestrial, but there they grow as epiphytes... anything terrestrial would be drowned, the river is this high for 6 months of the year or more.
