its in a lightly shaded south-facing position. Temps year round do not go below 69f and can reach about 90-95f at times in early Summer. The old spike ( in pic too ) had 5 blooms.

I used it as a parent in a cross I made a few years ago. Progeny are all slow-growing, finicky and not 'rootiferous' which has led me to the opinion that Jelly is itself a 'bum' cross genetically. I only have 1 seedling left which I am determined to bloom.......in my lifetime. Your experience doesn't give me much hope. It seems the worst of one parent can dominate.

I'm not a Phal expert, but it seems to me most of those species don't get much cooling in habitat. In fact, they're pretty much warm to hot all the time. Could that be the problem?

I used to think along these same lines until I met a number of phal growers from Minnesota who successfully grow and bloom phals at lower average temps than guidance, including species phals. I have bloomed all my phal crosses within 14 months from flask, except the Jelly Belly one - which will be at 2 years on 12/15.

To grow a mixed collection of Cattleyas, Miltoniopsis, Phals, Phrags, and Paphs in a single indoor plant room, there has to be a compromise in "climate", so everything gets a six week winter and I don't take temperatures over 84 F degrees in the summer. In the end, plants that won't bloom with these conditions have to be given back to Orchids Limited to give to someone else! It took me some years to learn to give up on plants, but when you are limited in space, you can't carry non-blooming plants for very long.

Update.
This is what the same spike looks like now, almost 5 months later. I've counted 10 buds on a branching spike and a second spike growing too.
