Default Roots and spikes

I saw in another thread a guessing game of root and spike. The simple joy of watching our favorite ones do some new growth!

My ever favorite noid Phal, have been in my care since Feb 2010. It has been consistent in blooming every year, sometimes twice a year. You would think I should be familiar already to recognize right away which one is a root or spike But this years growth is different, so just sharing some photos, always fun to watch and observe how the new growth transitions:
The whole plant:

For awhile it confused me..are those two both roots or one is root or spike. Plus there is another root that was grayish in color, and decided to grow longer at the tip, so it really made me confused.

Finally it is much clearer, the one to the right is a spike and the one on the left is a root.

Then noticed more new growth peeking, okay, another root or spike waiting game.

I'm going to say spike, but I'm obviously no expert! That would be really awesome if you got two spikes!

The circle on the right looks like another spike but, too early to know for sure...

Put your hands together, fingers also together. Look at them from the side. That is exactly what a spike looks like. Roots are round, spikes are flat. Good luck
