They're hybrids. I highly doubt that wal-mart gets in species. Nothing wrong with hybrids, IMO! I think that hybrids are a good place to start for beginners, since species tend to be more touchy than hybrids are.

They are also very pretty! I really like the green one, my daughter has one that's similar and hers is a sequential bloomer (meaning that it puts out one bud, then it keeps adding new buds to the end of the spike.) It does look like yours is trying to branch to me.
