Default Phals I Want to Rescue!

I barely managed to walk past all these beautiful plants without taking them home with me! The first one, and its sibling, are in very bad shape. Wrinkled leaves, mostly rotted roots. Just sad. They've been there since I rescued my little cutie a few weeks ago. The others are setup for Mother's Day. Since its tomorrow, they'll all probably waste away like the others I would buy them all if I trusted myself to care for all of them, but I'm not that great with Orchids yet! My oldest plant is 6 months old! XD Anyway... its quite depressing thinking about what will probably happen to these poor things, but I wish them and any other plants I might post here good luck!

I would have trouble resisting them too! It's sort of like going to the SPCA and leaving without all the orphans that need a home!

So pretty! It is so hard when you see some that you really like. I had to do that once with a supermarket phal that I found, I actually went back a week later hoping it was still there but lucky for me it was gone by then. Oh and BTW the first one definitely would have come home with me

I first practiced my orchid rescue techniques on phals - so often they are abused and left to die! My neighbor placed his beside cacti and naturally it burned up... I frequently tell people that if they want their phals to rebloom they should just give it to me...

Oh, the second one is just *too* pretty!! I've rescued a few phals in my time (mostly from friends who manage to nearly kill them!) and they all seem to be doing ok now I'm sure if you did find the urge to perform a mass rescue operation, you'd do fine

I just can't afford an Orchid obsession! XD Maybe once I get going with my job and I don't have to balance it with school. Then I might have enough extra cash each month to rescue a few orchids here and there! I would have loved to save the first one, but I didn't want to risk it getting stressed because of me moving a few times in the next few weeks

Ok... so I just caved and saved the first one pictured XD He's looking really sad - probably worse than the other one I saved a number of weeks ago.

Way to go! I'm sure whatever stress it gets in moves with you can't be as bad as how it would be treated in the store! Check for root rot!

As soon as I posted that first 'I want to, but I shouldn't!' post, I caved and ran to the Kmart to rescue it XD Its currently soaking in some super thrive to get its roots going! (posted it back on my 'Saving a Store Bought Phal' thread)
