Phal Towkay Bunga Bunga...
Ok, ignore the name, which is terrible. There is a good story on it, which you can read on orchidweb's website. I picked up this along with some other corningiana backcrosses. This is a first bloom on a smaller plant. This one really is awesome. Super thick, super fragrant, really deep red/purple. There is some interesting picotee on the petals. Hopefully form will improve a little, but the fragrance alone is a great selling point! Tried to capture the thickness. Sorry I can't capture the scent.

The flower is beautiful. Maybe on the second blooming the form will improve. The name is what attracted me to it...

Oh, sorry Judi. This is Eureka's Garnet x corningiana. I really like corningiana back crosses.

Judi,
I could never find this under the Phal listing, but it is still available I believe, try this link where I just searched for Towkay:
Orchids and Orchid Supplies
Not good with scents. But reminds me of a classic corningiana sweet scent with a bit of spicy scent from violacea in the background. Don't know if that helped, but that's as good as I can get.

Thanks Jarad! I didn't think (duh!) to do a search like that.
The story behind the name is kinda funny but it fits!

Took this real quick under the lights. You can see the second flower in the background. I dont remember the first being this dark when it opened, and the first bud still hasn't faded IMO. So, should be really fun to watch more closely now. Check this color out. It's pretty accurate. Crazy Dark Purple, Glossy, Highly Fragrant... What more do you need?

Wow, those blooms look like they are coming off 2 different plants! The second bloom is unbelievably dark, almost black. I think it would be nice if it would stay that way!
