A Phal. Christine Magro Remake
This is a remake of Phal. Christine Magro (Phal. Phal. javanica X equestris var aureum) that a friend did a few years back. The buds on my first spike blasted and a keiki formed. This is it's second spike, first flower opened today. I have got to say, it is better than most that I have seen. I absolutely love the color.

I agree, the color is gorgeous!! It really kept the shape of Phal. javanica.
Is this the same friend who bred that equestris apari x alba you posted in another thread?

The one and the same, he really has a good eye, I don't think there has been a real dog in any of the crosses he has made. The sad part is that he only makes a limited amount for himself and friends so most people never get to see them. That really is a problem with home hybridizers.

That's a shame, because these two that you showed are exceptionally nice.
Is the bulbo named after you also from there? That one is really really good looking.

No, the Bulbophyllum Glen Gary is a Bill Thoms cross. If you don't know Bill, he is probably the best Bulbo hybridizer in the US today.

Never heard of him. But I'm not a Bulbo person, nor in the US, so that may explain why....

Really lovely Glen! Do the flowers hide underneath as javanica does?
Too bad your friend only makes a few, would love to get one of these!

Judi - It has the equestris spiking habit. The keiki on the plant is already spoken for but if it puts out more, I will keep you in mind.

I would have thought that the habit was that of javanica but equestris?? Now I really want one!
So if you ever do get another keiki I'd be more than happy to accept your offer!!
