memories - giant phals from college days

I recently came across some pictures of the gigantic phals I grew with some other students in an orchid project at PSU. Forgive me, I can't remember the name of the cross anymore ( it was a tongue twister). The main plant in the center which won best phal at the show was about 4.5 feet tall with ( if I remember correctly) nearly a hundred 4inch+ flowers. Sadly AOS passed it over for judging because it had a few pods going for breeding purposes. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Wow! I don't think I've ever seen such a tall Phal!!! You must have needed one heck of a stake to support those spikes.
A shame the pods kept it from being judged, I bet it would have won something!
