Phal Sogo Tris
A very nice but under appreciated equestris hybrid that has been heavily used in hybridizing and not given the recognition it deserves by the judges.

Bud -
The growers are growing it and the vendors are selling it and using it heavily in breeding programs to produce miniature novelty Phals. My point was that although over 3 generations it's progeny have garnered 6 awards, the cross itself has never been awarded. I would even settle for it getting a Judges Commendation (JC) Given for distinctive characteristics that the judges unanimously feel should be recognized but cannot be scored in the customary ways.

Glen, call it coincidence but I just acquired a Doritaenopsis Sogo Gotris 'Flora Ark' which must be related ! P. Be Tris is in yours I'm sure and it's one of my parents with Dtps. Sogo manager the other.

Chryss -
You are correct about Phal Be Tris, Phalaenopsis Sogo Tris is (Phalaenopsis Be Tris X Phalaenopsis Rudolph). Phal Be tris is actually the equestris cross that gives the progeny their similar looks, it appears to be real dominent for size and shape.

Oh, what do you know - I picked up this very cross the other day, along with Sogo Tris Flora Ark! Its blooms are currently fading, with one last fat bud about to open but so far, I haven't had luck keeping flowers for even a week on pre-bloomed phals. Anyway, these two crosses and Sogo Yenlin were the mini phals all available at Lowes when I visited. I was surprised they all had labels, as I was looking at getting a Be Tris for at least $17 (ended up getting the Sogo Tris for $9, and the Flora Ark for $1).
It's a shame these apparently haven't gotten much of the credit they're due, these are some of the exact crosses that would be ideal for my collection.

What do you mean "would be ideal", I thought you said you just bought them !!! BTW, it's Sogo Gotris 'Flora Ark' and I got mine for free from a generous NCOS member. I just separated the 2 seedlings that were in the pot and I'm keeping the one with the spike and the other one will go on the member sales table at the NCOS show !!! UNLESS someone here wants to trade ??
