Nico .. I have seen yellow Phals very similars to yours but I can't place the name ..
The yellows are very hardy phals! (Someone told me even yellow roses are quite hardy.. must be in the genes!)
I have 2, one is a NOID which is double spiked, the other is a Tai Pei Gold x Cassandra #2 and they are my healthiest orchids! and are full of buds!
Good Growing to Yours!

Hi Barb, funny thing, I just saw your question to me and I see the date on it was April. I thought I did a much better job at reading the phal board. I have a baby schilleriana and due to my conditions, I am trying not to keep expecting great masses of pink, fragrant blooms when it gets older. I have a Phal I-Hsin Gold Coin (which is yellow) and a venosa that I think may spike in a few months. My nose isn't the best so I hope I get the benefit of a wonderful fragrance in the future.
I visited Home Depot here in Calgary & bought an orchid that looks like a Brother Lawrence X Teipe Gold yet has a lower lip like a Mini Mark (very light blue or violet) cast to it. One of the leaves is a little damaged but I think it should be okay. The sad thing is these beautiful orchids were so stressed due to underwatering thet several were dropping their buds trying to conserve their energy. Such Orchid Cruelty!!!! regards m

Don't be surprise how well it will come back ! .. I have bought phals only to find rotted rots. I have changed their medium when they were in full bloom, not lost any of the flowers, give it the right light, water and fertilizer and found the spike starting to grow and produce buds again. Some of the closed, more undeveloped buds had dried up and fallen off but that was the least of the damage.
It breaks my heart seeing orchids abused so badly by the big stores. Then, once traumatized, put on a $10 rack to be moved out and gotten rid of ...

Hi Dorothy (if anyone else wants to answer this as well, that appreciated). I just wanted to be sure that you have successfully repotted a phal in bloom and the plant didn't drop any flowers or buds. This new beauty I got today has 3 other buds in various development so I will be waiting months before i can repot and then we are getting into fall and I would rather not repot wiht the light levels are falling. I am hoping to have a proper grow area by winter. regards, m

Nico, you have a lovely collection of phals. And you also have a magical way of capturing them with the camera. Thanks for sharing!

The 3rd image is stunning. In the UK unless you go to a specialist grower all you can get is noids, but some are very pretty, but even noids are expensive here, Judi

Oh Nico, I really like that one. That bright orange lip and just a hint of pink in the center is beautiful. Nice one! Thanks for sharing.
