Phal still blooming but end of stem has turned brown

Thank you, so no misting at all? Also, will it hurt the blooms if I am cutting a big portion of the main brown stem down pretty close to where the blooms (nodes?) not sure of terminology but the stems that stem off from the main stem that have the blooms on them
