Default Help, No-name' Phal.

I had this orchid for quite some time but no name when the person gave it to me. This year two spikes - doing something right, eh? Any guesses on it's name?????

Phals are nearly impossible to identify from photos. You can say it is "like" another plant with a specific genetic name - but to say that it definately is a particular name would require confirmation from the grower - there are literally thousands of phal hybrids and most of them have so many visual look alikes that photo id's are rarely possible. Fortunately we can continue to enjoy them just the same! Enjoy! mike

Sounds good. Names are only important if you are showing plants at orchid society sponsored events - that is why many people DO care - no name means no show and no potential awards.....
I'll continue to enjoy MY noids too!

Well,,,, and names are important if you collect species like I do. I also photograph species orchids for my files.
