Hello I have had this DeLeon phalaenopsis orchid for half a year and it has bloomed about three times since I've had it and I recently started to notice that two out of the five bottom leaves around the tip area are turning a little yellow or light greenish on the leaves is this normal? Overall the plant seems very healthy it has green roots and has bloomed about three time this year already. This DeLeon phalaenoposis is located on the east window. Does anyone know whats going on with DeLeon? Any advice would be appreciated.... Thanks!

I don't think this is serious, but just to make sure, check for mites, scale, and mealy bug scale.
Otherwise, I would say it is possible that this is the beginning of senescence, and the leaves are on their way out due to old age. However, my eye is not trained to pick up on problems.

I think Tin is right in that it's nothing to worry about. I have a couple of Phals that have lower leaves like that. I was told it could be cell collapse due to exposure to cold. I noticed it right after I repotted outside last spring. I didn't think it was cold... but then I'm not an orchid. The leaves have been that way for months without visible sign that they're harming the plants in any way. In fact they are both in bloom right now.

hi allen. looking at you,re picture of what i can see of the potting mixture; it looks very tired. it might need a repot. just check the roots. i,ll bet that,s where the problem lies. it useually does.
