Default Odd Looking Phal. Leaf

This Noid Phal. has grown well since being rescued 2 years ago. All of my Phal. collection are currently growing new leaves. This one keeps producing new leaves before the previous one has a chance to mature. The latest leaf is more of a 1/2 leaf. It was repotted this past spring, is growing in the same conditions as the rest of my Phals., and I haven't used Superthrive. There is no evidence of insects or infection. Has anyone else encountered this atipical growth? Is this a quirk of nature or a danger sign?

I have seen it on one of my phals grown outside. I dont know if its natural or not, but otherwise it looks very healthy.

my phals leaves grow like that until they are about 1/2 inch tall then they open up. i know that oncidiums leaves will "stick" if there is not enough humidity. is there a chance that the leaf could be just stuck like that folded in half?

I've not seen this in any of my phals. I'd be curious to know what happends to it down the road.

Thank you. That's exactly what it was. After looking at the photo I decided to dust the leaves a bit with a small paint brush. As soon as I did the leaf popped open.

I've seen numerous Phal leaves which start growth like this one, then just spring open and complete their growth normally. I don't know if it's an abnormality or not, but the plants I have which have done this are otherwise normal in every way. I don't see it as anything to worry a bit about.
