Probably the heat is what got your catts before. I know you might not want to hear it, but I would try and get clear polycarb panels for the roof, so you can continue to use the aluminet to help reflect the heat while still increasing light levels.
If your vandas have been in your greenhouse for a while, I would not put them immediately into the light levels I like my vandas in. Make the move gradual. Are there any trees in your yard you can hang them from to get the dappled shading?

Thanks for the words of advise on My GH. I will work on that, and see if I can change out the rooftop panels soon.
As for tree's, no not much, as I only have Palms in my yard. I would be hanging the Vanda's under my covered pool deck. Getting bright light, but no direct sun at all there.

Many of the orchids your are growing can take nearly full sun (at least in morning and late afternoon) but not right away. Even Vandas will fry if you stick them right into bright sun after being in a gloomy area for a while. I would try slowly acclimating the high light plants like Cats and Vandas to really bright light by either 1) placing them in full sun with a shade cloth overhead. Reduce the shading by removing a layer at a time over several weeks. A little purple especially along the edges of leaves is OK. Full purple is overdoing it. 2) move the plants around to brighter and brighter areas over the same period. One of these should work. I personally have moved Encyclias and Brassavolas (both of which take pretty high light) directly into full sun while in Marathon Key FLA and over two days the leaves started turning black! They are better now after dropping those leaves and I have them in full sun here in Michigan with no ill effects.
As for the keikis, I would cut the whole spike off and let the plant recover. That's if it were mine. I don't like leaving the old blossom spikes on mine.

Ok, I will try all of the above!! I've already started to 'lighten' things up a bit, by taking off the Aluminet, and see how they all do, especially the top rows. As they were the ones to suffer in the beginning days.
I'm sure if I adjust them now, when the Hot blistering Summer days down here to come, they will be fine.
Again, Thank YOU!!!

I think I heard somewhere that it could be that the plant is under stress, getting old or not happy with the way it's kept.....

The Baby Phals are growing up!!
Hi there!! Thanks for your kudos!!
Here's NEW pics of the same phal that had 3 babies on it. In the first pics I posted of it.
I didn't want to cut off the larger ones back then as they were growing sooooo very close together, on oposites sides of the old spike. And, there is that 3rd one growing ever so slowly, that I was wanting and waiting for roots to come out on her.
Well it's been a couple of months now, and the 2 twins are growing like weeds, and the lost child on top is not growing any roots.
So this weekend I will be choppin' them off, as happy "triplets" and mounting them on the same piece!
I can't separate the twins, as I will end up killing one of them. And since the lonely one up top has no roots, well she won't survive with out the other two with roots. I don't think anyways. Well see if she even makes it this way?

Hey ya all! Anyone out here truly know what to do with that loner up top?? As I'm cutting them off this weekend with one snip, and mounting the twins together. But I'm not sure if the 3rd one up top will even produce anything? As she's not getting on love right now, with the twins getting all of Momma's love! And with NO Roots of her own, I can't mount her on her own...
Any ideas?? Keep her on there, and see what happens??
Mount her alone, and see??
Or cut her off, and let the twins be happy? As she has no chance??
You can see in the very beginning of my thread, the 3rd pic is this same phal. And the one up top has only grown out 1 leaf in months. While the twins have grown like weeds.

Mounting it with a pad of moss is worth a try or try semi hydro, even with no roots if the humidty is high enough it will have a good chance to sprout roots before it dries out.
