led light for Pinguiculas
I want to grow some Pings in my kitchen because they are beautiful and because i have fruit gnats around because i am growing more produce.
I cant have them on the windowsill because dogs and so i am looking for a full spectrum light i can mount under a cabinet.
is this a feasible idea or do they really need more intense light to get their mucus membranes going?
i was thinking about something like this

You could always grow the pings outside and bring them inside just when you need them to clear off the bugs. To get rid of fungus gnat issues, I put them under a bright desk lamp. The gnats are attracted to the light and then land on the plant below...after one night, two at most, I usually no longer have a bug issue.

I don't have a huge gnat problem so I'm not sure of their efficacy. Mine do not get the light they need to produce the pink flush, they stay green but flower regularly. They get Phal lights but still manage to capture some gnats.

so, i got a 1000w led panel and my wife said it was brighter than the sun and ruined the kitchen so...….
i then went and took the two 75w panel i had been using for my micro greens and, viola!
i had the light off in the pic because it is one of the cheap full spectrum ones that adds a lot of red so it looks pink.
the light is bright enough for the mucus to form on the pings and the drosera so it will stay.
it is nice to have flowers in the kitchen too!

You live in South Florida. Start digging until you hit rock, break a piece off, fill the holes in it with peat moss and call it done!

You should check out the Samsung LT-Q282A led strips. You could put together a pretty sweet mini fixture using a couple of the 1 foot strips relatively inexpensively. They’re pretty sweet. This guy did so on a tub using some older models. Samsung Linear LED module H-series Gen. 3
