Yeah but if it grows a keiki then it's not good for the plant... or is it?

What you wrote is not at all correct. All orchid growth is good. Keikiis are growths from the upper part of the older growth, or from the flower stem. Normal Dendrobium growth comes from the base of the plant. Basal growth is not called a keiki.

Yeah I do understand that a basal growth is not a keiki, but will a keiki on the top of the plant be detrimental for the health of the plant? I honestly can't find the answer to this question anywhere...

Oh ok you say all growth is good. Then I wont touch it again, I thought that if it comes a keiki and not a flower spike then it's not very good for the plant and it can kill it. I have been reading about this around but I can't find a decent source of info.
