Default Dendrobium schuetzei

Den. schuetzei is a Formosae type dendrobium species from the Philippines. It is a fairly easy plant to grow and bloom. The snow white flowers are very attractive and long lasting. I have this plant growing under 50% shade cloth in orchid bark.

Absolutely beautiful, there is something about white blooms that I just love. They are so fresh and crisp. Nice plant.

Mel,
beautifully grown. I'm currently collecting together plants of the Formosae for breeding purposes. Nice to see mature specimens. Do you attempt any crosses?
cheers,
Jamie V.

Thanks for the nice comments. No, I haven't made crosses with Formosae plants. I pick up new crosses from H&R Nurseries. Roy Tokunaga at H&R has the stud plants and makes nice crosses.

Some guys have all the luck. The closest I've gotten to Roy is a plant carrying his name. At least that made it to Europe. Next time you're there, take some fotos and share.

cheers,
J.
