Looking for Dendrobium Berry 'Oda'
Does anyone have any idea where I could find a Dendrobium Berry ‘Oda’ plant or division in the US?
It is a pretty hybrid of Dendrobium kingianum x Dendrobium 'Mini Pearl' (Dendrobium canaliculatum x Dendrobium bigibbum) that grows well on windowsills.
It's still a popular orchid that can be found in Europe, Australia, Manilla, etc. but it can't be exported to the US. After Googling everywhere I haven't located any US vendor that carries it and I have been watching eBay listings for a while now just in case it might pop up.
I found a couple of older discussions on OrchidBoard about this plant so obviously some US folks got ahold of this hybrid somehow a few years back.
Any recommendation is welcome.
I would be (very, very) happy to purchase a piece of this plant from any orchid collector on this board who would be willing to part with a small division or even a single keiki.
Thanks for your help.
Cat.

I suggest look for a Den Berry in the first instance 'Oda' is a cultivar name.

Three things you might try:
1. Shoot Terry Aitken at Salmon Creek Gardens a note; he has had them in the past (and does not list his orchid availability on his website )
2. You might also try shooting Clint Lewis at Orchid Dynasty a note; he has also had them in the past (as with Terry, his list of availability is only available by zipping him a note...)
3. Finally; Santa Barbara Orchid Estate (so far as I can tell from the site) has Dendrobium Berry available, but a different clone (ie not the Oda clone, rather whatever their house clone is--same genetic make-up, possibly either slightly different flower color, form, or some other characteristic)
Good Luck,
Adam

Thanks Adam. Still looking but I must say SBOE has an awesome Aussie Dendrobium hybrid selection! I might end up getting one from them.

I know that I have a plant, but I don't recall whether it is large enough to divide.
I am away next 8 days. If you have not found it by Nov 16, send me an email (user name here at either aol or gmail), and I will check when I go to the greenhouse next week.
BTW, I also have established keikis of several SBOE Den kingianums:
'Red Ink No. 2'
'Sue' AM/AOS
'Jewel'
