Dendrobium cruentum - Second blooming
Helloooooo.
One of my favorite den's. Still haven't got culture down 100%, but it's been fairly cold recently, so nothing in my windowsill has done much of anything. Hoping it warms up a bit to see some growths develop. -crossing fingers-
This one bloomed bigger than its first and is much more open than before. Just 2 buds on this cane because I couldn't figure out watering soon enough.
Bonus D. auriculatum because I didn't want to make another thread. Blooms all year round with flowers that are fragrant and last a couple weeks.

Potted in a net pot with charcoal since I don't have the space to mount it. I grow it pretty wet, but it lost a good chunk of its roots in its transition to my windowsill. It's putting out new roots and a small new growth, but it's slow... temps get to 65F at night and mid 80's on a warm, sunny day. Hoping it does better soon!

I keep mine in pretty loose/non-degrading media so I water liberally to keep root zone humidity up. Except in extreme cases, I think that's the key to "humidity" and orchids. I've never had humidity issues, everything just dries really fast on dry days and I'd have to water twice in a day. Not exactly water friendly, but at my scale it's immaterial!
I even have mounts! Same deal. I pack an extra layer of sphag around them and give em a soak everyday. As long as the roots don't desiccate, I think you're a-okay with most plants.
