Dendrobium Phalaenopsis
Default Den Phal Bud Blast

I had it in a west facing window that has a light diffuser on it (the stick on kind that lowers the intensity of the sun) and it was doing wonderful but there is a heat register above it and I was afraid that if I left it there the buds would blast, so I moved it only about 3 feet from the window where no heat would be blowing on it. Shortly after that I noticed the buds starting to blast.
I guess maybe I should not have moved it. I was always told a change in temperature can cause bud blasting, which is why the heat register worried me.
Thank you for helping...

Talk about fussy! It wasn't Den. Enobi Purple 'Splash' by any chance was it? That's the one for me that is so darn picky.

Could the register blast still be getting it and actually be the cause? Or is it too cool by the window now?

Hopefully, it will soon start a new spike or two for you.

Good to know. I actually have thought about buying one of these. I really wonder what is in the breeding that makes some of them such drama queens while others can be knocked out of the pot a few times, moved around at will and never miss a beat? I have had both types.

I know a few people who grow Enobi Purple beautifully so it may be just me and my conditions, but I really struggle with bud blast on it. It's gorgeous so worth a gamble to try it.
