D. anosmum/aphyllum = good idea? Male
Default D. anosmum/aphyllum = good idea?

As if I needed another obsession, my brain has recently started to tell me that I really need a large pendant purple-ish Dendrobium, with anosmum and aphyllum topping the list.

I have windows facing south-southwest, hot summers, cool winters (both regarding indoor temps), typical indoor weather.

I can manage a few Dendrobium hybrids and a handfull of other species.
Would I be in way over my head with one of these, or are they fairly forgiving?

I have an aphyllum x loddegessii and it has been very forgiving. It was actually one of my first orchids a few years back. I have something growing on it now... not sure if its a bud or kieki but my first growth that isn't a new cane. I can't wait. I got mine very young though so not sure if its old enough to bloom. If mine made it, I think they are pretty easy.

That sounds promising!
I think I'll have a go at it. What could possibly go wrong, and so on.
I'm leaning more towards the anosmum.
Now just the seemingly endless wait until it's time for the next order from Germany...

Both are pretty easy to grow, along with primulianum, they are the easiest of the group. As long as they get the dry winter rest, and good light. both anosum and amphyllum cane's can grown over a meter long, as they mature. primulianum is more compact.
