I bought these two just recently and it is very very hot in NYC at the moment. Some days they do not smell that strong at all but when I run AC a lot, the fragrance always return stronger!
It's my first den nobile and I grew it using the 'trial and error' method. It seems to like our hot and dry climate so it grows nicely.
Take good care of your Den and next year we can have a flowering and fragrance competition

I think I have one of these! Does the 'Apollon' cultivar smell like honey?

Default I go to TJ to look at the orchids

But never buy any because they are not labeled with a proper name.

My Den. Spring Dream 'Apollon' is in full bloom. The scent is very intense, quite capable of filling a living room with considerable proportions. Actually an old hybrid (1965) generally sold as a Yamamoto, although he did not hybridize it. It was recently used in their breeding lines producing D. Libra and D. Adonis. It is still one of their market plants and often encountered during the Christmas right through to Easter seasons.

I've set a pod on it with D. Rainbow Dance. Could be interesting.
