Dendrobium speciosum
This is a first time blooming Dendrobium. The plant comes from Australia and can be a fantastic bloomer if well grown. I've seen some stunning pictures of it with several simultaneous, huge flowering stems! Mine gave me only two (which is good for a first time ![Smile](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/smile.gif) ), one of them had the tip burnt by extreme low temperatures the other day. I also have an alba variety that didn't flower yet.

These are really nice pictures! I'm not really a Dendro fan, but this is a nice plant. Thanks for sharing.

Very lovely ... your plant's flowers are more yellow than the typical white / ivory flowers. Could this be var. flava? Great job for first bloom!
These plants can get to be huge ... inflorescence in attached photo is nearly a meter long!

Hi, Cneos
Sorry, I can't say whether it is variety flava or not, but I'll try to find out. When I bought it, it was tagged Dendrobium speciosum only, so for me it was the type. I really wasn't aware of a flava variety. I have two plants, the one showed above and another with white flowers. Thanks for the hint.

I'm actually not even sure about a variety flava. I checked out the Santa Barbara Orchid Estate website where they feature a Dendrobium speciosum var. grandiflorum that is noted for its yellow flowers!. There is also a clone called 'Blazing Gold' - shown by A&P Orchids, Swansea Massachusetts at a recent event.
Regardless, your plant is lovely. Please send photos when the 'alba' form opens. ITM, enjoy!

Congrats! Great pics of a healthy orchid. This is, for me, not an easy Dendrob to grow, let alone get to bloom. Way to go.
