Default Den Bud Blast HELP!!!

Hi,

My Den. Sonia Earsakul is in bud, first time for me, however the buds seem to grow healthy and big. The bud is a little over 1 inch and than it starts to shrivel up and die When i inspected it it looks like its still sealed, the petals are stuck together. It has 6 more buds that are in the growing process is there anything i can do to avoid a repeat of this horror show? And is this a nature thing or something i'm doing wrong?

Thanks

Is it sitting in a direct draft from a fan or an air conditioner? I had this problem last summer (and last month!) and figured out that was the problem....

Irphrog, thanks for yout quick reply.
Nope but it is sitting by the door and sometimes when the back and front doors are opened at the same time it gets a draft. Can it also be temperature extremes? Here in good ol Toronto it fluctuates between 15 and 30 or so. And im sure the poor thing feels it everytime i open the door.

It's not unusual to lose some buds on Dends but if it's happening to the majority (and even less but more than a few), I would really suspect temps being the reason especially with the fluctuations you're describing. Too hot with bad air circulation or sudden drop in temps. can be the reason but not exclusive to other reasons why this may happen.

Are you saying that these variances in temps are felt just when you open the door but not what the plants are having to live in? If so, then you'd have to consider other factors. Too much fertilizing? Type of water you're using? Too much/too little light? (I've had Catts. bud but not bloom when they weren't receiving good light.)

Thank you Sandy & Irphrog,
It was getting medium light and the temp only fluctuates when the door opens. Now i moved it to more light and away from the door. It lost 1 small inmature bud and than that big one that did not open its the first time its flowering for me and i have only had it for 3 months. I got it when it was starting to spike.

I use mostly only rain water to water the chids and i fertilize about once every other week.

Thanks again.
