That is very pretty, Pheli! Do these usually have many more blossoms?

Hi Shirley,
Compared with other nobile-type dendrobiums, this one often has fewer flowers here.
Last year, it had more than 20 flowers but this year, only one....

Was looking at purchasing the same pheli. What a unique looking bloom. Did you make some changes for this beauty to produce 1 bloom this year with the past? Either it be a single or multiple bloom it's a beauty..

I'm about to receive a keiki of this species and I was wondering on how you guys take care of yours.
IOSPE PHOTOS
^^^ Is a great resource.
I think I'm going to keep this one in moderate lighting in my enclosed plant rack for the sumer time and then move it to an eastern window and water less during the fall/winter.
I love miniatures especially in vivariums but I don't think this one will take the higher temperatures. Anybody have any contradicting evidence of that?
Thanks,
-Andy

Hi Andy,
The species is widespread in southeastern Asia and as i know, the elevation they dwell in is from sea level to 1500 meters.
It is also found in Hong Kong or costal provinces of China, which tells us that it does well in warm to hot weather.
In winter, sunbath and dry period is needed to facilitate blooming.

Hi Andy,
This one can be considered a "mini" due to it's size but it's also a rambler and will spread out wide. Mine is covering a 12" square tree fern plaque!
Pheli, I have the same problem with sporadic flowering on mine. Last year, I got only 2 blooms, this year it was 4...maybe someday I'll get 20 like you've accomplished! It's certainly a beautiful bloom!

Sue, the trick is having that snake living on the plant... or why do you think it has been posted that way in IOSPE? get a snake for your Dendro and you will have millions of blooms...
