2-days ago I received a mounted BS Dendrobium heterocarpum. Yesterday I noticed that the canes were all turning yellow. I have no clue as to what happened. This is a shade loving Dendrobium which I have under my patio awning. Is this Dendrobium going to be ok ?
I've seen nobile types turn yellow with too much light or heat. I'm guessing it got too hot in transit. The plant may grow fine. Dendrobiums need large amounts of water when growing, especially mounted.
I would contact the seller and send a photo.

Thank You .. I've contacted the seller and sent them a photo of the Dendrobium. I was just worried that this Dendrobium was going to die since all 4 canes are yellow. I do believe you are correct, it was the heat in transit that was the problem.
Ono of the nice things about Dens (and other orchids) that tend to lose leaves in the fall is that in the spring, they do new growth as a matter of course. And tend to bloom on old leafless canes. So even with abuse, they'll be fine. And I think just keep this well watered while the weather is hot (it probably got pretty thirsty in transit) and and give it a little shade. It will be fine.
