Dendrobium sulcatum
Almost a mini - sulcatum means 'flat' which describes the foliage - flattened pseudobulbs with leafy tops. Flowers in clusters under the leaves. Very brightly yellow.
Enjoy - Nancy

Hi Nancy...great 'chid!
I have had one of these for two years, purchased as a seedling. I got a few blooms out of it last year but right now, it doesn't seem too happy.
How are you growing yours? I think I could use your help on this one

Hi Susanne -
This winter, since I somehow gathered several species Dendrobiums (all slightly different winter needs), I got little hanging tags, two colors. One for cool, one for warm; then wrote on the tags "dry" "dryish" "bright", that kind of thing. Nope, nothing anal about me. This one was "warm bright dry" - so I kept it at the top of a wire rack where it got good light (almost full sun) and warmth rising. It gets dappled light the rest of the year.
Always a good sign when they simply survive, and blooming is a definite bonus.
They do seem to bloom pretty small, so yours will surely be spectacular next year!
Regards - Nancy

Thanks Nancy
I did give it the winter rest but I think I might need to give it some more light...off to find it's happy place
