Paph. Hsinying Rubyweb 'Spotter' x fairrieanum 'Red Swan' culture help
Really new to the orchid world, have few different plants that are doing well, but this is my first paph. Scored a Paph. Hsinying Rubyweb 'Spotter' x fairrieanum 'Red Swan' at TJs. local store has a great selection. have been looking up stuff on the the two crosses and I'm a bit confused, has anyone grown this cross and can you offer any advice?
It was pretty dry, so I watered it right away, it's sitting in a shaded spot near an East facing window.
Looks like a healthy plant, will see the roots when the bloom drops, and I repot.

Excellent find. Everyone else's TJ's carries better orchids. So not fair.

Emailed firstrays.com, and they ran the cross through orchid id. they recommend treating it like a mottled leaf paph, lows to 50f and intermediate light, it's going next to my phalaenopsis

This type of breeding, typical Maudiae-type hybrid crossed with Paph fairrieanum, is pretty common. Dozens of other hybrids besides Hsinying Rubyweb could be substituted with equivalent results. Treating them like the Maudiae-type parent is usually appropriate, and those instructions are easily found. They may be a little more prone to stress from hot dry conditions.
Many people use the term "mottled leaf Paphs" as a cultural group, meaning the same thing as when I say Maudiae-type, or Paph specialists might say Barbata or Sigmatopetalum. It is a potentially misleading term though, as there are many species and hybrids with mottled leaves that are not part of this cultural group and have different needs. Just be aware as you explore Paphs that not all Paphs are the same, and not all Paphs with mottled leaves are mottled leaf Paphs.

Welcome to the Orchid Board!
You might want to change your user ID to something else, to prevent a lot of spam. One of the forum moderators can help you with this.
If you look in the menu to the left and click on Forums, then scroll down to Cypripedium Alliance - Paphiopedilum, you can read a lot of threads on how people grow hybrid Paphs. They differ from many other orchids in that they don't like to get completely dry. They also don't like to stay soggy wet. And they need less light than many others; this is why they do well on many windowsills.

My TJs has multiple oncids, occasional paphs, a few different Wilsonara, bratonia, you name it!
The tags all say Luna river orchids, can't find them online. Generally over potted, media usually needs changing.
I've been keeping that phal damp near an East window, flower is going strong
