This is a good legitimate use of those Philly genes. I don't generally like most of its hybrids, despite being one of my favorite species because of its tendency to mute lip colors (when crossed with species/hybrids that have otherwise bright/dark pouches).
However, in cases like this where it leads to a nice contrasting orange/yellow hue, it's fantastic! Very good outcome, beautiful and eye catching flowers!

I agree I was at the right place at right time. Fortuitous!
It is true that philippense does mute lip colors of certain crosses, unless cross to a similarly colored lip flower (like roths and parishiis). It also passes on it's beautiful twisted petals (ribbons) and increases flower counts. In this case, it extended the petals and flower count of the concolor. It also passed on its magenta stripes and red blush ... All great traits to produce the nice contrast!

The lady was so frustrated with this plant due to non-blooming for over 10 years that she had given up years ago. When it finally bloomed this year, she was already ready to let it go I guess. Lucky me

Looking around the internet at other conestoga's, you also lucked out in how it's turned out against others of grex... many really aren't great (although don't get me wrong i appreciate, muddled, modest flowers, like i would a mute dog, and can find them super cute).
for example:

this one something is definitely off... lol...

not trying to be negative, just reinforcing the great find bestowed unto you!
