Most of mine bloom quite consistently.
There may be some subtle difference such as slight curling or drooping down of petals along with some color change, but minor. You can tell what they are.
I do have one that went from poor to excellent, which is my Armeni White. I bought it in bloom with deformed pouch with crippled petals. I just got it for a change as it was a multigrowth healthy looking plant at a discount price. It bloomed three more time within the next 8 months, and each time the flower opened up beautifully. I think it is the best I've seen.
I'm posting one example of a green complex.
The one on the far right in the first picture is the one being referred to.
It stayed round and flat the whole time it was in bloom the first time it flowered.
Then it flowered for the second time in the fall of the same year. The dorsal was curled backward significantly.
The other changed that are not very obvious in the pictures is that the gloss has improved and the green tone was stronger without much veining visible, these two were the good changes for me.
Now I wonder how it will bloom for the third time.
Unfortunately the plant suffered some root damage after the second bloom and I had to nurse it back to life for over a year. It now has a one mature growth and a new shoot. I have no idea if it wants to flower any time soon, but it is a free bloomer with henryanum in the blood.
Now another example.
The second set of pictures show Hsinying Yosemite Fair. It was registered the same year I bought it so it was brand new at the time.
I got it because of the beautiful yellow color it had.
It took nearly two years for it to bloom again, and the second bloom (it gave me two spikes) were green, and the dorsal was smaller.
In about another two years now, it is spiking for the third time. I wonder how it will be. If green again, I don't want it. It is a super grower, went from one growth to over ten in 4 years! not bad, right?
