Paph. fairrieanum
I attended the Pacific Orchid Expo in San Francisco last weekend and picked up a couple of nice species Paphs. from Dean at Paphiness. This is fairrieanum.
I also got a tranlienianum which has been very hard to locate. It is not in bloom.

I've seen lots of pictures of fairrieanum but saw a few of them in person for the first time this past week. They were so small!!!
One of my first paphs is Hsinying Yosemite. and I have since added another hybrid that has fairrieanum in it. Both are larger flowered and I love them in bloom!
I have to say fairrieanum is such an exotic and unique looking flower. I haven't developed a desire for species but love some of its hybrids.
saw some amazing (to my eyes) dark vini ones but never came across in person yet.

Nice fairrieanum! One of my favorite species, I don't have it though (yet). It's good you found a tranlienianum. Can't wait to see its bloom(s)!

Dean had 3 tranlienianums, so maybe shoot him an email if you're interested. www.paphinessorchids.com - Home They are not listed on his website. I think he sold out of the fairries on Saturday.
