Always very exciting to see spikes and buds, then the wait begins.

I love the beautiful leaves on your plants, which is the main reason I buy these sometimes.

I had about 20 of this and they all looked different when in bloom. I got rid of most I didn't like and kept two that bloomed almost vini ( I love vini but these had not that pretty leaves compare to some others), and two coloratum ( I think most of this cross bloom coloratum) for leaves (didn't like the blooms that much because of odd shape).
One of the coloratum one is spiking under my LED settup now at the same time starting a tiny new fan. so cute!
I still excited to see the spike even though this one has an ugly flower. very pretty leaves though!

Some of the plants in this cross is very nice!
most have nice leaves regardless.

Thanks, one of the reasons I choose this one is because I liked the leaf coloration. I would prefer all my orchids to be attractive when not in bloom too. But I love the oddly shaped flowers of this one too.

I purchased a new plant with what promises to be a very large bloom . It bears the same name as yours. I did buy it with a bud, so it is not so exciting as your plant who will bloom on its own for you! I will post a photo in reply to your post when it opens in the nest week I think. It is a bit like expecting a child!

I purchased the plant at orchid quest 2013 Madison, Wisconsin . It looks excellent. So happy I bought it!
