Default Looking forward to getting a little willi!

Just over a week to go, the money has gone out of my account, and I'll be picking up a little paph wilhelminiae ('Biak' x 'Dark Chocolate')at the Britich Orchid Congress!

Hope I've not bitten off more than I can chew. The only paph I have is a venestum, which I think is doing OK... but I've been really admiring similar paphs, not sure which to get. So when I found out there was a small one (good in a small flat!) with great colours, and I had the chance to pre-order from Jerry Fischer I just had to go for it!

I will definitely post pictures, but don't expect too much. I'm only expecting a little one!

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I saw the title of your thread.

Congrats on your purchase. I love P. wilhelminae. It's probably the smallest species in the Coryopedilum group. In exception of the mini philippinense (var. palawanense?)

LOL, I'm going to have to look out for that now! I think I heard somewhere that alba philippinense were often small, but I think that was just the flowers.

Greetings Rowan,

Here is an article that you may find interesting.

enshinshu38.html

I have few clones of philippinense in my collection. They quite varies a lot. From the smallest from 10-15cm in leaf span adult plant (palawanense). And the so called laevigatum and roebelinii variety that can reach from ~30cm to ~60cm in leaf span. I like the miniature though. It is a 7 growth plant in a 3.5" square pot. Tightly packed in there.

Congrats! I love wilhelminiae, but I got a gardineri instead which is very similar (also a small and compact multiflora Paph).

I look forward to seeing pictures of the flowers later on.
