What is the difference between complex paphs and bulldog paphs? Also, how long do the flowers last on these orchids and are they hard to grow?

Normally, outside the USA, Complex & Bulldog Paphs are the same thing. Usually they can grow quite easily in much cooler conditions than most other Paphs. The flowers can last for 2 - 3 months. This depends on the size & health of the plant also. They are, for me, the easiest of the Paph family to grow.

Aha, now I know too. I've been wondering about the term "Bulldog Paph" for a while and thought it might refer to Paph bullenianum, but apparently I was far off. I don't like the Bulldogs then, now I know.

And over here they are usually called American Paphs, or American complex Paph. So many names! Either way, I really don't like them.

I didn't used to think I liked bulldogs much, but after seeing some beautiful HUGE ones at orchid shows, they have definitely grown on me!
