Beautiful! Congrats on the bloom, and for being so patient!
This is one of my favorite Paph species for the color and the scent, but I keep talking myself out of getting one until I've settled into a more permanent living situation (college student). So many plants that I just can't wait to get... *sigh.....

Yes, tricky part is not blasting the buds. Since its so long to elongate the stem and for the flower to open sometimes it reach summer where it becomes too hot. Then bud last. You should be okay if there's no drastic differences in temps. No fragrant that I can detect so far.

Heh...I just buy the plants that I want. If I like it, it comes home with me. Then again, I live off-campus, so bringing things home isn't a problem.

Lol. Well, I'm still moving between school and home (a 7 hour drive) several times a year, and my car is already overflowing with plants. Also, this May I'll be moving to Massachusetts, so I'm somewhat limited for the time being. But when I get the chance to put down roots, watch out!

Yeah, sadly my bud blasted this year. The spike was just under 3 feet long.

This is sucha beautiful paph but I won't be getting this one anytime soon. This one is known to blast its buds often. Some paphs really like to torture their owners
I think I'll just enjoy the photos on the board -- Thanks for the view eggshells
