The orchid hat trick, bloom bud and spike
I received the plants from Kalapana Tropicals Orchids - Hawaiian Live Orchids
today and the 1st one I managed to get out of fort knox junior had 2 blooms and a fresh spike emerging !!!
you really have to look at how they pack these boxes to open them up right and not tear plant up while your grabbin and pullin



Ill take some time and get the camera out for some little bettr pics. Used my cell as I had to go to work to pay for all the beauties



2 huge blooms, one just opening and on the back side a spike emerging for 3 blooms if I can keep the eldest alive and fresh..If not it has 6 new growths all around it and everywhere.
Trimmed 2 old growths out and made some room for the new ones..I dont know how to stake the little one or what to do with it..Very short compact spikes. The raised purple bumps are seriously slipper wartage Amazing and interesting that these small plants can do so much in such a compact space...This is why I started to enjoy orchids...

Wow, how fabulous! I'm in love with that colour and the way the lighter stripes highlight the whole flower - is it as deep a purple/ black as the pictures make it look? and I take it that the 'slipper wartage' is meant to be there then?

... I feel like I'm gushing a bit ... I don't mean to, I just love deep purples
