Paphs welcoming me home...
These two pretties opened while I was away.
The primulinum had one flower open before I left... now I have two:
I've been waiting for the Envy Green for what seems like an eternity!! It was finally open when I got home:
And not a Paph., but another slipper.... Phrag. Andean Fire is still in bloom, here are flowers 3 & 4 from this spike. (There are still two more buds to go!)

Lovely flowers and good growing! A nice welcome home for you. I especially like the Envy Green. Could you please tell me the names of the cross? I have a young spicerianum X primulinum so will look forward to the day when that one blooms but I think it might be a couple of years away yet. I really like the way you've photographed the Andean Fire. I also have one of these and the spikes are so tall that I still hadn't figured how to get a good photo. Now I know -- a closeup!!
Thanks,

Thanks everyone! It sure was nice to see these when I got home. I am really pleased with the Phrag too Ramón. And to have had 6 flowers on its first blooming is a really good sign.
I do love the slipper orchids, Rick - they are all so exotic looking, like David says. There are more in spike, so this winter is going to be really lovely!!
The Envy Green is a pretty little plant with its mottled leaves, and the flower is quite big in relation to the size of the plant. One that I would recommend to everyone that likes something a bit different. The parentage of Envy Green is (malipoense x primulinum).
Shirley, most of my Paphs were bought as young seedlings, so I am still waiting on quite a few of them to reach blooming size. It does take time, but I love the idea of seeing a plants very first flowers. I guess 75% of my Paphs are still too young to flower, but my goal - inspired by Jim - is to eventually have some in flower all year round.
As for the Andean Fire, I thought about restaking the spike after the first two flowers dropped (it is staked up to the first flower) but the arch of the spike was so elegant, I left it as it was. I think they display themselves well this way. But you are right, the flower spike is VERY tall (over 20 inches). The flowers are also a nice size with a just slightly over 3.5 inch natural spread.
Gloria, I think you and I have very much the same likes when it comes to orchids - I always look forward to seeing whats blooming for you, as I know I can probably add another one to my wish list!!
Jim, I have been inspired by your fantastic groupings of Paphs in flower. I'm getting there, slowly but surely!!
I had my doubts about the primulinum. I bought it out of a group of about a dozen primulinums, and it was the only one that had such a rounded wide dorsal, and also had petals that were wider than the others around it. Although it is clearly labelled as primulinum, I thought it might have been a Pinocchio mixed up?? But I don't know what key differences there are to look for.
Thanks for looking everyone!
