Default Paphiopedilum superbiens with 4 spikes

This plant has done well in my conditions. Currently there is one open flower (a bit faded now) and 3 more on the way. One of the other 3 has just started so isn't clear in the photo. I'll probably repot this spring. The inflorescences are a little wonky because they started out facing the window. I feared they would touch the cold window glass and also wanted to see the flowers so turned it.

I bought directly at Schwerter in Germany. I trust them. Also, I believe it does look like superbiens.

don't take it personal, while I'm not a taxonomist I've been growing paphs for a long time and have not seen any superbiens that don't look like the other photo. It's just not a variable species.

That being said, I remember something being sold as a superbiens many years ago that looked like your plant, which is much paler with less spotting. 'MEm Clarence Schubert' or something if my memory serves me correct. I don't think that was a true superbiens.

this seems more like a taxonomic debate, if they are saying the one you have is the 'true' superbiens or maybe some new form.
