Cool Disease or ???

This is a Spicerianum. Are maroon spots normal or is this some kind of pest/fungus/disease? The chid is growing like a weed so suspect it is fine but still wonder about the spots. Anyone know?

It is not a disease! This sort of coloration is pretty typical of many paphs..... I'm not sure that this much color at the base of the leaves is normal for Paph spicerianum, I will have to check my plants.....The plant looks very healthy.

A lot of times, good, strong light will bring out this coloration. This is a good thing! You've got a happy plant there.

I checked, and this is typical of Paph spicerianum. The amount of color is a bit variable from plant to plant.

Hey Gary...The coloration on your plant is a good thing, here's a peek at a picture of mine that I'm going to post over the weekend it has the same coloration. Hope this helps. Jim.
