Cymbidium Dancing Mother 'Kotone'
When Cal-Orchids comes to the Eastcoast, I often get 'carried away' (= walk away with my arms full of new plants). At the Silva Orchids fall orchid fest in September 2015, I was picking over the Cymbidiums, when Jim told me that I had to get one of these too. I usually avoid madidum hybryids due to their size, but eventually I relented and took one of these too.
The plant was in a 6" pot, so I assumed that I would have to grow it for several years. To my great surprise, it produced 4 spikes this spring.
I have already pollinated it with one of my other pendulous Cymbidiums (Drew's Delight), as this one is surely worth breeding with.

I love the cascading flowers! Those are my favorite cymbidiums.

Great colour contrast.
