I've been noticing there are some differences between the US and EU markets. He we can find a lot of diff genera for sale in retail stores and supermarkets. In US it seems this doesn't happen.
When I refer to "antique" it denotes a hybrid closer to the species, and does not have the fuller form of today's hybrids. It may have other qualities to make it a good pot plant for the public market, but unfortunately, without a name, its parentage can never be traced.
Form never sold an orchid so some hybridizers are reverting to the species to get different effects for the diverse sales market.
