Don--
Most of my plants are either in straight CHC or CHC & dolomite...though I have a few growing in tree fern as well. I will post pics as they come into bloom. Good growing,
Adam

Thanks for the update, Adam. Looks like mine isn't going to bloom this year. Just a lot of new growths. Oh well.

Congratulations on the spike! I'd say you have 3 weeks minimum until you see blooms. Kepp us posted as things progress.

Melanie:
I am not sure; I searched for this cross at the RHS site, but came up with nothing; there is a Via Loch Pixie, and a Via Reposo, both of which are Gallup & Stribling crosses, it may be that this is an unregistered cross of these two plants, I am not sure. If that is the case, I think that this will most likely be a standard sized cymbidium, however I do not know if it will be of the pendant nature or not. Sorry I can't be of much help, but I would expect the spikes to be at least 18" in length.

I appreciate the info and the help. I do have the Cymbidium plant care tag, and it does say Gallup and Stribling Orchids on it. I never even thought to check that "worthless bit of paper". Now I have a web address, and will try to contact them about any info on this orchid. The name tag did have a number on it also, so like you said it maybe an unregistered cross. I'll post pictures, if and when it flowers.
Thanks again,
Melanie

I contacted Gallup and Stribling last night, I got the info on this orchid today. It is a cross, and standard size that should bloom in the spring. I'll have to post the cross if you're interested tomorrow, I opened the email at work, and can't find it now here. Got to love computers sometimes.

Here's what Gallup sent me on this orchid:
Via Loch Reposo ‘Pixie Gold’ is a cymbidium orchid. Its parents are Via Reposo x Loch Lomond. It is a standard (large plant) with yellow flowers expected to bloom in the Spring.
Sincerely,
John Ernest
