I did see that, I'm glad it's working for you!
Yeah, especially in bigger pots, the hydroton really seems to keep the roots happier that are in that center part that stays wet longer.

I just have the lower ...6th, maybe? of the pot filled with hydroton. In smaller pots, a layer one or two pieces deep.
That's about it.
