Thank you Ramon you are 100% correct. I have 4 of them but will get what ever wins. AS for the voting polls. This recent poll is just to narrow down the list for the FINAL poll. Each person is to pick 3 from that list of 10. The plant with the most votes IS the project plant. The reason for picking 3 may help prevent a tie. (no guarantees) But if there is a tie. we will have a 48 hr tie breaking poll. I will go over the poll later and figure out what the count is and post it here.

I would like to see Laelia Purpurata in the final poll... although it would be hard to pick between some of the top competitors.

Are we going to have everyone vote for 10, because I noticed not everyone picked 10.

Once someone vote's you can not redo it. What the votes are they are. Too complicated to change.

however, I think part of the game here is to get the plant selected, no matter if it is my favorite plant or not and try to grow it... also, the idea is that no matter whether you already have the plant or not, you get a new one, in order to have everybody aligned (it makes no sense 19 people with a newly bought plant competing against 1 who has a plant already established since 1 or more years...)
e.g. I have already 11 of the plants in the current poll, and don't really like 7 of the plants in the poll (including two that I already have!). However, no matter which plant is selected at the end, I will buy one and grow it under my conditions to show how it works for me to the rest of the group...

If this is because of my comment about the purpurata then I had thought the indicated I was not serious. Even if it doesn't win I plan to get a carnea variety and this is one of those orchids which with all the varieties you could have a sub-collection of them (and I'm probably going to end up with a sub-collection if I find they do well for me because they are one of my favorite catts).
Sorry if that was mis-read, I fully agree with your description of how the project should work. Some of the ones on the list I'm not sure about... buy hey I'll give them a go. I was REALLY nervous about my first project plant which was way out from my normal purchases (new alliance, first species, and first mount) ... and I've enjoyed it so much.
Can't wait till we find out the winner

no, Rosie... nothing to do with yourcomment. Sorry if it came overlike that... it was a general comment about the whole discussion whether one poll or two or three... plants to be included or not... plants liked or not, and so on...
