garlic scapes
So my garlic is forming the scape (flower stalk). I have heard of people eating them but I don't know how to prepare them. Does anyone know how to prepare them or use them in a recipe?

Garlic scapes are great! I only got into using them last year after seeing them at our farmer's market. I grow my own garlics, and I never thought to use the scapes--duh! I found the following two links have some great recipes:
Garlic and Garlic Scape Recipes
and
Garlic Scape Carbonara | Garlic Scapes Recipes : Sarah's Cucina Bella
. Enjoy!

Judi,
thanks for the info. I was planning on harvesting the scapes this weekend so now I have a use for them.
Most excellent.

I never knew you could eat them either. I have garlic spreading in the herb garden. Hmm.
