Cattleya Riverbend's Bronze Coin - First blooming!
Got this guy as a NBS seedling from Gold Country last summer. I was going to wait until both buds opened before posting but when I got home from work today and finally saw one fully opened, I just couldn't. Colors are off a bit in the picture. Any purple looking areas are actually more of a bright fuschia type color.
It doesn't look anything like what it was described as or the provided picture C. Beaufort X Landate
I normally drool over orange, spotted Catts but, for once, I think I like mine more.

That's gorgeous. Love the colour combination, and the spottiness of the bloom.

I think you hit the jackpot with this unique coloring. Many of this cross probably do have variable range of orange flowers, many with spots a few without, and many of the rest probably spots over brown or olive. You got a standout for color, spot pattern and form.

Not very bronze, is it? But lucky you, that is a lovely bloom! What a fabulous lip!

Thank you all!
I am actually very happy with this plant even though it doesn't look at all like I was expecting. I agree PaphMadMan, this is definitely a unique plant and a nice score!
There's no fragrance yet, but it just opened yesterday morning so there's still time. I'll be posting another picture once the second bud opens. Hopefully I can get it more color-accurate. I'm so excited!

Oh my,it's spectacular. Perhaps your temps had something to do with the coloration but I wouldn't change a thing!
