Mystery cattleya has bloomed
I got this mini catt last winter with no blooms on discount with no clue what it was, and it's finally bloomed. It's orange hooray.
This is actually my first cattleya ever to bloom for me.

Congrats on the bloom. Maybe the vendor can tell you what it is if you send them a picture. Otherwise it is likely impossible to know for sure. But its lovely just the same.

Very nice! Looks like it belongs on a cake.

It does indeed look like it belongs on a cake!
I love this hobby. Seeing it bloom gave me a deep sense of satisfaction.
Seven more buds getting ready to open!

Cute little thing. How big is the flower?

Golden Tang is extremely variable, so I suppose it is possible, but it usually shows at least a little influence from Brassavola nodosa. The small narrow lip and broad flat leaves don't really seem to fit with that. There are so many small yellow Catt hybrids I think this is likely to stay a mystery.

The bloom is little, only about 2 inches across. Here's another pic.
