Curious little orchid: Cattleya araguaiensis
Yesterday it was still a elongated flowerbud, today it has opened in a rather curious 'little' flower. The colors are almost maroon/brown/burned caramel with a white tubelar lip edged in the same pinkish-brown tone. It is a 'big' flower in comparison to the complete plant. i want to call it Pinocchio, lol!

This is one of those catts that I find people either love it or they hate it. I have 2 of them...can you guess which side of the fence I stand?
Yours is beautiful!

I'm not really much into the cattleya alliance, particularly when it comes to all those big, complex hybrids, but I do love this little species.
The color is interesting, and it has a flower shape other than round! If it stays small, that just means more room for more plants!

Awesome, you don't often see that one in bloom around here. Liking it, so it has to hit the wish list!
How large is the plant Pat and can you share your culture details for it please?
