I bought one of these for like $8 at a sale...it hasn't bloomed for me yet for whatever reason. Growing pretty good though.

Of course, I don't know how cattleyas react to you and your growing, but they sometimes take a couple of growing cycles (not seasons, necessarily) to get "used" to me, and then they bloom. Oftentimes, large classic cattleyas need to be large (think minimum 5 or 6 pbulbs) before they have the "strength" to bloom again. How small the division?

This one of mine took 7 years from bag baby to bloom. The division I made then took two cycles...and then bloomed again.

Love it! I also got one of these bag babies in the Winter. I don't think mine will bloom for me this year. Congratulations on yours.

I remember seeing that on the front cover of Stewart's Orchid catalog back in the 80s, they wanted 350.00 for a 4" pot, if I had the money I would have bought one. I waited several years and eventually got a division from a friend. Now you can get them as a bag baby, the amazing world of cloning.
